Eric Nam Takes Us Out to Hibachi at Shogun in Pasadena to Celebrate His Brand-New Single “How the Fire Started”
Fresh off his unforgettable run on ‘The Traitors’ season 4, Eric Nam is back and better than ever. The South Korean singer-songwriter recently released his latest single “How the Fire Started” and to celebrate, he invited us to join him for a delicious hibachi dinner at Shogun in Pasadena. As we sat down for our meal, Eric opened up about his experience on the hit reality show, his upcoming film projects, and why he almost turned down the opportunity to be a part of ‘The Traitors’ multiple times.
Eric Nam rose to fame in 2013 with his debut single “Heaven’s Door” and has since become a household name in the K-pop industry. With his smooth vocals and charming personality, it’s no surprise that he caught the attention of the producers of ‘The Traitors’. However, Eric admits that he was initially hesitant to join the show.
“Don’t trust nobody. Don’t trust anyone,” he jokes, referring to the cutthroat nature of the competition. “I was actually approached to be on the show multiple times before I finally said yes. I was worried about how it would affect my image and my career, but ultimately I decided to take the risk and I’m so glad I did.”
And we’re glad he did too, because Eric’s time on ‘The Traitors’ was nothing short of amazing. He quickly became a fan favorite, with his genuine personality and impressive performances. When asked about his experience on the show, Eric says, “It was definitely a challenge, but it was also so much fun. I got to meet and work with some incredibly talented people and I learned a lot about myself as an artist.”
But Eric’s talents don’t just stop at singing. He has also been making a name for himself in the acting world. He recently starred in the hit film ‘The Last Song’ and has several upcoming projects in the works. “Acting is something I’ve always been interested in and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. I’m excited for people to see what I have in store for them,” he says with a smile.
As we enjoy our delicious hibachi meal, Eric shares some behind-the-scenes secrets from his time on ‘The Traitors’. “One thing people don’t know is that we actually had a lot of downtime on the show. We would often spend that time practicing and perfecting our performances, but we also became really close with each other. It was like a big family,” he reveals.
But the most important secret Eric shares is his recipe for success. “I think the key to success is to never give up. There will always be challenges and obstacles, but it’s important to keep pushing forward and never lose sight of your goals,” he says. And with his successful music and acting career, it’s clear that Eric lives by his own advice.
As our meal comes to an end, Eric thanks us for joining him and encourages his fans to continue supporting his music. “I’m so grateful for all the love and support I’ve received from my fans. I couldn’t have come this far without them,” he says humbly.
With his infectious personality and undeniable talent, Eric Nam is definitely one to watch in the K-pop industry. And with his latest single “How the Fire Started” already climbing the charts, it’s safe to say that his future is looking bright.
