Ellerstina Yellow Rose, the team captained by Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres for the Triple Crown, had its inaugural appearance

At the exclusive Enero Costanera in Buenos Aires, Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres, along with Bautista Bayugar and Ignatius Du Plessis, the latest additions to the team, unveiled the Ellerstina Yellow Rose team for the upcoming polo season in Argentina. The participants showcased the team’s new official shirt and discussed their expectations for the year. Gonzalo Pieres expressed their eagerness to start playing with the new team and emphasized the goal of kicking off the season successfully.

This season, the esteemed Ellerstina team, renowned for winning numerous championships, including multiple editions of the Argentine Polo Open, has secured the support of Yellow Rose. Yellow Rose, a polo club founded in 1996 in Punta del Este by Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez, continues to contribute to the growth of the international polo community in Argentina and Uruguay. Since 2021, it has established its polo organization in Argentina and formed a strategic alliance with Ellerstina, a youthful and dynamic team with significant potential and organizational support.

Despite the absence of Facundo Pieres, who opted to join the La Natividad quartet this season, the team comprises Nicolas Pieres, Bautista Bayugar, Gonzalo Pieres, and “Nachi” Du Pressis, reaching a combined handicap of 35 goals.

Anticipation is high as the team prepares for the Argentine Triple Crown, featuring prestigious tournaments such as the Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open, and the Argentine Open Polo Championship.

During the presentation, Ellerstina received support from its sponsors: Yellow Rose, Jeep, Gibson, and RUS. They also enjoy backing from AlUla, Stella Artois, Sierra de los Padres, Enero Restaurant, Johnnie Walker, Clos de los Siete, and Aconcagua.

Beyond its success in local tournaments, Yellow Rose is recognized for its social commitment and support of equestrian sports. The charity events it organizes, blending high-handicap polo with music and solidarity, attract renowned polo players and raise funds for social causes. Notable polo players in Argentina, including Polito Pieres, Ignacio Figueras, Bartolomé “Barto” Castagnola, Mariano Aguerre, Facundo Pieres, Pablo Llorente, among others, have participated in these events.

In 2021, the club hosted an event in Punta del Este sponsored by the Argentine Polo Association and the Uruguayan Polo Association, bringing together the world’s best polo players for a meeting to benefit the Marabo Sports and Social Club in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires province. Yellow Rose’s commitment to social causes is further evident through its collaboration with the Compromiso Foundation and the Municipality of General Rodríguez, where it is based. The club promotes a free training program for individuals over 16 years old in digital trades such as Digital Marketing, Electronic Commerce, and Digital Programming.

The 2023 season represents a significant milestone for the club as it becomes the title sponsor of Ellerstina in the Triple Crown, emphasizing the shared values of family, friendship, and sport promoted by Yellow Rose.
