CATEM, led by Senator Pedro Haces Barba, expressed its support for Claudia Sheinbaum, committing to establish 10 thousand Committees for the Defense of Labor Transformation in her favor. The organization, comprising over 1,194 union organizations across the country, affirmed its dedication to the continuity of the Fourth Transformation.

During the congress, Pedro Haces Barba, the Secretary General of CATEM, reiterated the commitment to the values of the Fourth Transformation and acknowledged crucial moments for the country’s future. He emphasized support for Claudia Sheinbaum, characterizing these significant times as a “Mexico written with ‘M’ for woman.”

Haces Barba recalled the advancements in labor rights achieved during the current administration, including freedom of association, the elimination of outsourcing, increased profit sharing, and a rise in the minimum wage. Erik Osornio, CATEM’s Secretary of Labor, outlined the role of the Committees for the Defense of Labor Transformation as advocates for the achievements of the Fourth Transformation and supporters of Sheinbaum in defending labor issues.
