A dress rehearsal on the old Coastal Route
This Tuesday, July 11 in the morning was held the dress rehearsal. For the first time, it was on the old Route du Littoral, between the Ravine à Jacques and the Grande chaloupe, that the troops trained, instead of the usual Barachois.
It’s practical because it looks like Le Barachois from different points of view. It’s not exactly the same configuration, but it’s close enough, and above all with enough room for everyone to be able to sit down, and play in real life what we’re going to do on the Barachois.

A career highlight
First time also for Kévin Therezo, cadet of the Republic. He has his share of difficulties, but it’s true that most of the work is to remain static, he agrees.
For regulars, the parade on July 14 remains a highlight of their career. Everything is millimetered and the concentration remains essential. Laura Quartermaster in the Navy will leave Reunion this year. She takes part in her second fashion show with confidence.

The service requires rigor and discipline, recognizes Chief Sergeant Joseph Fruteau, firefighter. We have no room for error, we are facing the population, we represent our profession, we are facing the authorities too, so we have to be square , he insists.

The meticulous coordination of the troops
For the troops to be well coordinated. It’s a science, the commander of the troops is a bit like the conductor, explains Colonel Nicolas Souchon, Chief of Joint Staff of the FAZSOI, commander of the troops.
Instead of signaling, give him information and orders during the ceremony, such as to stand at attention, to either present or bear arms, depending on the activities at the time. To get an idea, the people who will parade will be spread over 350 linear meters, he specifies.
Civilian and military troops are ready to march in front of an audience that is always present at the Barachois. The municipal police of Saint-Denis will close the march, on a scooter.
